Nicole Maranta

Nicole Maranta is graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology in July 2022 after completing his thesis internship in the Laboratory of Pharmacognosy of the Department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences of the University of Milan, a period in which he studied theethnopharmacological and ethnobotanical aspect of the plants of its places of origin, the Valtellina. Following graduation, she continued her work in the Laboratory of Pharmacognosy as a frequent volunteer, subsequently winning the scholarship for promising young people.

During this period, she was able to learn the main techniques of molecular biology and biotechnology, also deepening the use of some instruments such as the cytofluorimeter and the confocal microscope. Her research activity focusses mainly on the study of the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activity of extracts of natural origin, working in vitro on different cell lines, such as gastric, intestinal and skin cells, as well as on some bacterial strains, such as Helicobacter pylori and Cutibacterium acnes.

In 2023, to continue his training, he attended the specialization course in health properties of natural products at the University of Milan and currently attends the school of doctorate in Pharmacological and Biomolecular, Experimental and Clinical Sciences at the Laboratory of Pharmacognosy of the Department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences ‘Rodolfo Paoletti’ of the University of Milan.
