The research activity of the Laboratory of Pharmacognosy of the Department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences “Rodolfo Paoletti” is mainly aimed at the study of medicinal and edible plants, in which the pharmacological approach is associated with a rigorous chemical investigation, in order to correlate the observed biological effect on one or more chemical entities.

The main research areas are:

  • Anti-inflammatory activity of polyphenols of plant origin
  • Study of products of plant origin for topical use
  • Research of biological activities with an ethnopharmacological approach
