Enrico Sangiovanni

Enrico Sangiovanni is Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences “Rodolfo Paoletti” (DiSFeB) of the University of Milan (UNIMI), Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. In his research activity he deals with studying the anti-inflammatory activity of natural products, in particular at the gastrointestinal and cutaneous level.

During his working activity Enrico Sangiovanni presented, as co-author, more than 90 contributions at national and international conferences, 61 international scientific publications in peer reviewed journals (H-index 22) and was the author of 3 book chapters. In addition, he participated as a scientific manager or co-manager in 13 funded projects. Since 2011 he has been a member of the Interuniversity Malaria Research Centre (CIRM), since 2012 of the Italian Society of Pharmacology (SIF), since 2019 of the Italian Society of Pharmacognosy (SIPHAR) and since 2020 of the IUPHAR Mediterranean Group of Natural Products Pharmacology (IMGNPP) committee, for the valorization of natural products of the Mediterranean area.www.imgnpp.org/it).

Currently (a.a. 2022-2023) he is a professor of the courses of “Phytotherapy for the skin”, “Etnopharmacology” and “Pharmacognosy 2”, as well as a member of the Steering Committee, at the Degree Course in Herbal Sciences and Technologies (UNIMI). Among the third mission initiatives, Dr. Sangiovanni has participated in several editions of “MEETmeTONIGHT– The night of the researchers”, manages the scientific blog of the DiSFeB (www.ricercamix.org) and writes articles dedicated to herbal medicine for the site www.doveecomemicuro.it (www.doveecomemicouro.it/pharma/integratori).
