Giulia Martinelli

After graduating in Pharmacy in 2018 from the University of Milan, she earned a PhD in Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences, Experimental and Clinical, in 2024 from the Laboratory of Pharmacognosy of the Rodolfo Paoletti Department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences at the University of Milan, with a thesis entitled “Ellagitannins: potential natural compounds against gastric H. pylori infection.” She also earned an Executive Master’s degree in general management from MISOM (Milan School of Management) in 2024.

Dr. Giulia Martinelli’s research activity is mainly aimed at studying the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activity of extracts of natural origin deriving from medicinal plants and / or edible at the gastrointestinal level. She has won two grants from the Italian Society of Pharmacology (SIF) for a full-length work published in 2022 and for a short research stay abroad. She has been co-supervisor of 11 experimental theses; she has collaborated on numerous research projects funded by leading companies in the natural products sector and on three ministerial research projects, in addition to organizing laboratory exercises for the Pharmacognosy I course of the Degree Course in Herbal Sciences and Technologies, school-work alternation projects, and various Third Mission events.
