{"id":1060,"date":"2022-12-12T13:59:42","date_gmt":"2022-12-12T12:59:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/farmacognosia.unimi.it\/profilo\/giulia-martinelli-2\/"},"modified":"2026-04-23T11:43:28","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T09:43:28","slug":"giulia-martinelli-2","status":"publish","type":"person","link":"https:\/\/farmacognosia.unimi.it\/en\/profilo\/giulia-martinelli-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Giulia Martinelli"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After graduating in <strong>Pharmacy<\/strong> in 2018 from the University of Milan, she earned a <strong>PhD in Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences, Experimental and Clinical<\/strong>, in 2024 from the Laboratory of Pharmacognosy of the Rodolfo Paoletti Department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences at the University of Milan, with a thesis entitled &#8220;Ellagitannins: potential natural compounds against gastric<em> H. pylori<\/em> infection.&#8221; She also earned an Executive Master&#8217;s degree in general management from MISOM (Milan School of Management) in 2024. <\/p>\n\n<p>Dr. Giulia Martinelli&#8217;s research activity is mainly aimed at s<strong>tudying the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activity of extracts of natural origin<\/strong> deriving from medicinal plants and \/ or edible at the gastrointestinal level. Particular attention is paid to infection by the pathogen <strong><em>Helicobacter pylori<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 one of the main causes of gastritis \u2013 in a co-culture model with tumorous and non-tumorous gastric epithelial cells. He carried out part of his doctoral studies (6 months) at the University of Zurich, where he was able to deepen his research in gastric organoid models and <em>in vivo<\/em> models.<\/p>\n\n<p>She is the author and co-author of <strong>30 articles published <strong>in peer-reviewed international journals<\/strong><\/strong>, including 10 with an<em> H-index <\/em>of 13. She has participated in numerous national and international conferences, winning two awards for best presentation. She has won two grants from the Italian Society of Pharmacology (SIF) for a <em>full-length work <\/em>published in 2022 and for a short research stay abroad.
